When Hollywood and Fashion Combine
When it comes to celebrities and high fashion, the two worlds combine in more than just the red carpet. From having their own fashion brands, to collaborating with top designers, see what happens when Hollywood and fashion combine.
Jessica Simpson was one of the first major celebrities to create her own successful fashion brand. With the joint collaboration of Nine West co-founder Vince Camuto, The Jessica Simpson Collection started as a footwear brand. With its quick and major success, the brand expanded to include clothing, handbags, jewelry, sunglasses, and more. The brand impressively grosses almost 1 billion dollars a year! When asked about her major success in the fashion industry, Simpson says “I have been every size on the planet and I understand women.”
Growing up in the spotlight influenced jewelry & shoe designer Nicole Richie to create her creative, stylish, fashion brand. She was constantly surrounded by costumes and designers, and was inspired to make her own fashion brand. House of Harlow 1960 combines Richie’s love for unique styles, costume dressing, and bohemian fashion. The brand officially launched in 2010, and is sold in high-end department stores like Bergdorf Goodman, and Neiman Marcus.
Iggy Azalea X Steve Madden
Australian songwriter and rapper Iggy Azalea recently collaborated with women’s shoe brand giant Steve Madden. Her Iggy Azalea Collection from Steve Madden is funky, fresh, and high! Her wedges and platform sandals reach up to 5 1/2 inches! If you’re youthful and daring, we’d love to hear a review about her shoes designs.
Whitney Eve Port is best known for her TV personality on The Hills, but is recently known for her fashion endeavors. In 2008, she interned for fashion pioneer Diane Von Furstenberg, and soon after launched her own fashion brand, Whitney Eve. The inspiration behind Port’s fashion line is a mix between the nonchalant California style and the edgy New York City life!
